Station Eleven

Survivors of a deadly flu try to pick up the pieces and rebuild the world in HBO Max’s new sci-fi miniseries “Station Eleven.” The series premiered on December 16, and new episodes will debut every Thursday through January 13.

The critically acclaimed series is based on the bestselling novel written by Emily St. John Mandel. Set 20 years after a pandemic has ravaged the globe, the story focuses on a group of survivors who work as traveling performers. The show stars Mackenzie Davis, Himesh Patel, and David Wilmot.

Though the premise might seem like a downer, especially considering the realities we currently face dealing with a real-life pandemic, critics have praised the series for its dark yet uplifting story. The show currently holds an impressive “100% Fresh” rating on review aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes.
